Lock the year
After you send the package, lock the year so nothing in it can change by accident.
- Lock through Dec 31 locks that year and everything before it.
- Locks only move forward: you can't lock an earlier year in a way that reopens a later one.
- Unlock a year (with a reason, kept in the audit log) reopens that year and anything after it. Earlier years stay locked.
- Corrections to a locked year usually go in the next year instead.
